Step by step
- Make sure you have a valid cédula de ciudadanía (physical, digital or the yellow card with holograms) or a valid contraseña.
- Go to the consulate during passport hours. In New York, no appointment is needed for passports.
- Pay the fee by credit card, debit card or money order.
- Minors must bring an authenticated copy of their Registro Civil and come with a parent who brings their physical cédula.
- Collect the passport at the consulate, or have it mailed by providing USD 19 in stamps.
