About ConsulateOffices

Updated on October 30, 2026.

ConsulateOffices is an independent directory of the consular offices that foreign governments run in the United States: consulates general, consulates, embassy consular sections and, for Taiwan, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Offices. It covers 414 offices of 49 countries.

Where the information comes from

Every office record was built from the government’s own websites: the embassy’s list of consulates, each consulate’s contact, hours, jurisdiction and fee pages, national passport and visa portals, and the pages of authorized service providers such as VFS Global or TLScontact when a government uses one. Each office page links to the pages used and the date we checked them.

We do not fill gaps with estimates. When a consulate does not publish its hours, jurisdiction or a fee, the page says “not published” and links the official site. At the last review 253 offices published weekly hours and 284 published the states they serve. When two official pages disagree, we show both.

Honorary consulates and historical addresses from old State Department lists are not shown as operating offices.

What we are not

We are not a government website, a consulate or a visa agency, and we are not affiliated with any of them. We do not book appointments, sell forms or charge for anything. Rules, fees and hours change: confirm with the consulate before you travel or pay.
