In person at the Colombian consulate. At the Consulate in New York, passport applications do not require an appointment.

Step by step

  1. Make sure you have a valid cédula de ciudadanía (physical, digital or the yellow card with holograms) or a valid contraseña.
  2. Go to the consulate during passport hours. In New York, no appointment is needed for passports.
  3. Pay the fee by credit card, debit card or money order.
  4. Minors must bring an authenticated copy of their Registro Civil and come with a parent who brings their physical cédula.
  5. Collect the passport at the consulate, or have it mailed by providing USD 19 in stamps.
